Softball Recap: Boise Has No Trouble Against Caldwell

Boise won against Ridgevue on Friday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. Everything went the Brave's way against the Caldwell Cougars as they made off with a 15-5 victory. Considering the Brave have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Lily Binford, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Lilly Hopstad was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Boise always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win made it two in a row for Boise and bumps their season record up to 10-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Caldwell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Boise will host Capital at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Brave's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. As for Caldwell, they will venture away from home to challenge Bishop Kelly at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
