Volleyball Recap: McComb Comes Up Short

McComb was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Arcadia Redskins. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Redskins earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, McComb sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 18-25, 26-24, 27-29, 15-9.

Morgan Kern paced McComb's offense, picking up 28 kills. Kern got some help from Shelby Hassan and her 32 assists. Claire Bryan controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

McComb's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Arcadia, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-7.

McComb didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Cory-Rawson on the 16th. As for Arcadia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Riverdale on the 17th.
