Recap: East River Falcons vs. St. Cloud Bulldogs
The East River Falcons lost against the St. Cloud Bulldogs back in February of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. East River suffered a tough 72-50 loss at the hands of St. Cloud. East River has struggled against St. Cloud recently, as their contest on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Defeat or not, East River got some senior leadership from Yariana Lugo Perez who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds and Keilani Serrano who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Lugo Perez scored a full 42% of East River's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilyana Scully, who scored nine points.
Haley Collins was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with nine rebounds for St. Cloud. The contest was Collins' third in a row with at least ten points. Emily Lockey was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
East River's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for St. Cloud, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
East River will play host again and welcome Lake Howell, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Cloud, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Nona at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Nona will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 477th, while St. Cloud is ranked 53rd).
