Bryan Vargas leads Cristo Rey Tampa to victory over American Youth Academy

The Cristo Rey Tampa Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They walked away with a 64-57 victory over American Youth Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Bryan Vargas was his usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Isiah Carrol , who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

The victory makes it two in a row for Cristo Rey Tampa and bumps their season record up to 3-6. As for American Youth Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Cristo Rey Tampa will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Brandon Academy at 5:00 p.m. Hopefully Brandon Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Monday. As for American Youth Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Pepin Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
