Recap: St. Thomas More Academy Chancellors vs. St. Mary's
The St. Thomas More Academy Chancellors lost against St. Mary back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. St. Thomas More Academy took a 46-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Mary's.
When it comes to explaining why St. Thomas More Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Enora Boutrand. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Maire Kelly, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Among those leading the charge was Helen Newcomb, who scored 18 points.
St. Thomas More Academy's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 11-8. As for St. Mary's, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Thomas More Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Thales Academy Apex at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. Thales Academy Apex will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for St. Mary's, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cary Academy at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
