Softball Recap: Ketchikan Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Ketchikan can now relate to. They fell 14-11 to the Kenai Central Kardinals on Saturday. The Kings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Kardinals earlier this season, when they won 14-9.

Ella Shull led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Mylee Gray, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Ketchikan's loss dropped their record down to 16-19-2. As for Kenai Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-15.

Ketchikan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kenai Central, they will challenge Soldotna at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Kardinals will need to watch out since the Stars have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
