Volleyball Game Preview: Rangely Panthers vs. Manila Mustangs

The Rangely Panthers will take on the Manila Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rangely will be strutting in after a victory while Manila will be coming in after a defeat.

Rangely took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They won by a set and slipped past Hayden 3-2. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Rangely had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 17-25, 25-17, 25-20, 15-10.

Meanwhile, Manila was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of St. Joseph.

Manila took St. Joseph into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-9, 25-20, 20-25, 15-12.

Rangely's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Manila, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

Rangely skirted past Manila 3-2 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
