Baseball Game Preview: Richlands Wildcats vs. Dixon Bulldogs

The Richlands Wildcats will challenge the Dixon Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Richlands put up the most runs they have all season last Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over Northside - Jacksonville. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Dixon won against Trinity last Tuesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again last Wednesday. The Bulldogs came out on top in a nail-biter against Morehead, sneaking past 10-8. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Dixon let Trent Leal and Seth Vincent run wild. Leal got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI, while Vincent got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave Vincent a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Tesgle, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Dixon's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Richlands, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.
