Softball Recap: Warren Central Warriors vs. Lawrence Central Bears

Warren Central proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Lawrence Central Bears 7-5. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 8-7 win the Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Jordyn Dever spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Kira Smith was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Natalie Hiliard was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
