Douglas has gone 7-1 against Cholla recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Bulldogs will venture away from home to square off against the Chargers at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Douglas was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Amphitheater on Thursday. The Bulldogs blew past the Panthers 11-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Meanwhile, Cholla hadn't done well against Rio Rico recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Chargers were the clear victors by a 21-6 margin over the Hawks.

Isabella Pratti made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Pratti was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Cholla got a massive performance out of Martha Zepeda, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs and two RBI. Those four runs gave Zepeda a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nallely Contreras, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Cholla kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rio Rico only managed six hits.

Douglas is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Cholla, their record now sits at 5-10.

Douglas took their win against Cholla in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 16-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
