Softball Game Preview: Scituate Spartans vs. St. Mary Academy-Bay View Bengals

The Scituate Spartans will take on the St. Mary Academy-Bay View Bengals at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Scituate is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering North Kingstown just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Skippers.

Victoria Geisser was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off four doubles, two runs, and one stolen base while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Chatelle, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, St. Mary Academy-Bay View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They lost 17-2 to Smithfield.

Hope Myers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

St. Mary Academy-Bay View's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Scituate, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
