There's no place like home for Monterey, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Tascosa Rebels on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Plainsmen as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

RJ Laurent spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

Monterey's win bumped their record up to 4-19-1. As for Tascosa, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-8.

Coming up, Monterey will venture away from home to take on Abilene at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tascosa, they will welcome Amarillo at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
