Softball Recap: Beecher Picks Up 28th Straight Win on the Road

Beecher entered their tilt with St. Anne on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Cardinals get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won 17 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Ava Lorenzatti made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 12 contests.

In other batting news, Beecher let Abrianne Papas and Ashley Lorezatti run wild. Papas went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Lorezatti went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Papas has posted since back in April. Liliana Irwin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs.

Beecher's win was their 28th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. Anne, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
