Basketball Game Preview: Babylon Panthers vs. Kings Park Kingsmen

The Babylon Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Kings Park Kingsmen at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Babylon's tournament run continued when they took on Connetquot on Friday. The Panthers fell 60-51 to the T-Birds. The loss put an end to the Panthers' undefeated start to the season.

Despite the loss, Babylon had strong showings from Peyton Logue-Boyd, who posted 18 points, and Morgan Fiedler, who scored 20 points. The matchup was Fiedler's third in a row with at least 15 points.

Meanwhile, Kings Park took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against Comsewogue by a score of 52-44.

Kings Park's win came from a few key players Babylon will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Riley Currier, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 14 points along with six boards and four steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Madison Schultz, who shot 42% from the field en route to 20 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Babylon fell to 2-1. As for Kings Park, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-0.

Babylon suffered a grim 53-30 defeat to Kings Park in their previous matchup back in December of 2021. Thankfully for the Panthers, Jaxie Cestone (who dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
