After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hopkinsville, McLean County was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They skirted past the Warren Central Dragons 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won five in a row.

McLean County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava McCarty, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Brooklyn Whitworth also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-9-1. As for Warren Central, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.

McLean County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dragons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
