Softball Recap: Mountainburg Dragons vs. Westside Rebels

Mountainburg extended their losing streak to seven on Monday, dropping them down to 0-7. They came up short against the Westside Rebels, falling 17-0. If the Dragons were looking for revenge after losing 12-5 to the Rebels when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Westside, they moved to 5-11 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Westside's part, Torie Nobles made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Nobles has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. Coming up, Mountainburg will welcome Acorn at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westside, they are taking a road trip to square off against Hector at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rebels will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least ten runs in their last six games.
