Wheeling hadn't done well against Hersey recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Wildcats came out on top in a nail-biter against the Huskies, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since April 12th.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Wheeling got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 22-25, 25-19.

Wheeling is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Hersey, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.

Coming up, Wheeling will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Prospect at 6:00 p.m. As for Hersey, they will take on Fenton in a tournament on Saturday. The Huskies are facing the Bison at the right time seeing as the Bison are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
