Softball Recap: Brighton Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

It was a proper cat-fight when Brighton challenged Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central on Wednesday. The Brighton Cardinals took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Tigers.

Brighton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryleigh McCain, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Maggie Livingston was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Brighton's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.5 runs. As for Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Brighton is taking a road trip to square off against Huntingdon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Brighton is facing Huntingdon at the right time seeing as Huntingdon is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central, they will face off against Lexington at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
