Baseball Recap: Andover Beats Pittsburg for Their Third Straight Victory

Andover waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Pittsburg Dragons. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Dragons, too.

Andover's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-11. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Pittsburg, they moved to 7-7-1 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Pittsburg will look to defend their home field on Monday against Independence. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Dragons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Andover will be paying especially close attention to Pittsburg's game: after Pittsburg faces off against Kapaun Mt. Carmel, they'll take on Andover again on Saturday.
