Softball Recap: Copper Hills Grizzlies vs. Westlake Thunder

Copper Hills's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Westlake Thunder by a score of 9-6. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Copper Hills also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2019.

Kennedy Jennings made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Jennings has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive pitching appearances. Jennings was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Anslie Yazzie was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Averi Yazzie, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

On Westlake's side, Addison Conder made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with a home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Buckley, who went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

The victory got Copper Hills back to even at 11-11. As for Westlake, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Copper Hills nor Westlake have any future games scheduled.
