Basketball Recap: Cottage Grove Comes Up Short

Cottage Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Junction City Tigers. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Cottage Grove now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Junction City, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cottage Grove will face off against North Bend at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Junction City, they will square off against Marist at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
