Vallivue had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Caldwell on Thursday. The Falcons were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Cougars. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Eli Daniel made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Daniel wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Colt Augustus, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, five runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Augustus has posted since back in March. Another was Connor Payne, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Vallivue was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Caldwell only posted a batting average of .280.

Meanwhile, Columbia fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Emmett on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 12-10. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Parker Harrison was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Harrison was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with four RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Brody Springer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Finley Stern was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Vallivue pushed their record up to 20-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Columbia, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

Vallivue skirted past Columbia 8-6 when the teams last played back in March. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
