If New Philadelphia wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Lexington, they should've done a better job of containing Makaree Chapman. The Lexington Minutemen escaped with a win on Saturday against the New Philadelphia Quakers by the margin of a single free throw, 41-40 thanks in part to Chapman, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine boards. She also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Lexington is 5-2 when she posts at least five steals, but 5-8 otherwise.

The victory made it two in a row for Lexington and bumps their season record up to 10-10. As for New Philadelphia, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lexington will head out to square off against Columbian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Lexington is facing Columbian at the right time seeing as Columbian is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for New Philadelphia, they will be taking part in a tournament against Tri-Valley at 1:00 p.m. on February 15th.
