Recap: Yazoo County Panthers vs. Kosciusko Whippets
The Yazoo County Panthers fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Kosciusko Whippets on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 66-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Whippets. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Tuesday (61), Yazoo County still had to take the loss.
Kosciusko's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ryan Tillman, who scored 20 points along with 3 steals. Tillman has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaybre Pierce, who scored 9 points along with 13 rebounds and 3 steals.
Yazoo County are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Kosciusko, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yazoo County will take on Provine at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
