Herington had won two straight games and Mason Mortensen did his part to make it three on Saturday. The Herington Railroaders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 34-32 victory over the Wakefield Bombers thanks in part to Mortensen, who posted 22 points. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Wakefield's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kingsley Smith, who had eight points in addition to ten boards and three steals. Smith is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Bradyn Moenning, who earned seven points.

Herington pushed their record up to 5-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Wakefield, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

Herington has already played their next game, a 75-48 loss against Little River on the 27th. As for Wakefield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 78-16 defeat against Blue Valley on the 28th.
