Recap: Highland Trojans vs. Gary West Side Cougars
The Highland Trojans entered their tilt with the Gary West Side Cougars with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Highland took down Gary West Side 46-27 on Saturday. Given Highland's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Gary West Side is ranked 384th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Highland got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Steele out in front who scored 21 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Steele has scored at least a third of Highland's points. Aaliyah Keil was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Highland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Gary West Side, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highland will take on Munster at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Munster is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Gary West Side, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Whiting at 7:00 p.m.
