Basketball Game Preview: Melrose Dutchmen vs. Kimball Cubs

The Melrose Dutchmen will venture away from home to challenge the Kimball Cubs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Tuesday, Melrose was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 50-49 to Upsala. The Dutchmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Kimball suffered their closest defeat since January 27th on Tuesday. They fell just short of Holdingford by a score of 45-42.

Kimball's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Melrose, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-16.

Melrose won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in December of 2014, slipping by Kimball 31-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Melrose since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
