Basketball Game Preview: St. Pius X Panthers vs. Madison Marlins

The St. Pius X Panthers and the Madison Marlins will compete for holiday cheer at 7:16 p.m. on Thursday.

It was a proper cat-fight when St. Pius X faced off against Northland Christian last Tuesday. St. Pius X took a 56-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northland Christian. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 642nd, while the Cougars are ranked 185th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Madison, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past Sharpstown 80-20 on Wednesday. That 60 point margin sets a new team best for the Marlins this season.

St. Pius X's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Madison, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.

St. Pius X didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Madison in their previous meeting back in December of 2018, but they still walked away with a 64-60 win. Does St. Pius X have another victory up their sleeve, or will Madison turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
