Basketball Recap: Greenfield/Northwestern Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Greenfield/Northwestern entered their contest against Staunton on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers fell 49-41 to the Staunton Bulldogs. The Tigers were probably out for revenge after losing 46-44 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Greenfield/Northwestern's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-7. As for Staunton, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers challenge the Edinburg Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Edinburg will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Greenfield/Northwestern surely won't give up without a fight. As for Staunton, they will square off against Carlinville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
