Baseball Game Preview: Granbury Pirates vs. Colleyville Heritage Panthers

For the second straight game, Granbury will face off against Colleyville Heritage. The Pirates will face off against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Granbury's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Colleyville Heritage's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Granbury is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over Colleyville Heritage. The victory was some much needed relief for the Pirates as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Levi Martinez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Martinez wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Blake Bramlett, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Brazos Cornelison also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Colleyville Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 16-11-1. As for Granbury, their win bumped their record up to 17-8.
