After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Howard, Reservoir was happy to have turned things around on Friday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 28-27 victory over the Atholton Raiders. For the 'Gators, this counts as revenge for the 13-0 win the Raiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Atholton lost, don't look at Tyler Bell. Despite the final result, he rushed for 119 yards and one score on only 13 carries, and also threw for 257 yards and one touchdown while completing 72.7% of his passes. Darin Smith was another key player, rushing for 56 yards and one TD on only six carries.

Reservoir now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Atholton, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Reservoir wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 42-37 defeat against Guilford Park on the 26th. As for Atholton, they have also already played their next contest, a 47-3 victory against Mt. Hebron on the 26th.
