Basketball Game Preview: Centreville Wildcats vs. James Madison Warhawks

After both having extra time off, the Centreville Wildcats and the James Madison Warhawks will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Centreville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches.

Centreville saw some tournament action last Monday. They took a 70-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Colonial Forge. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (58), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jaxson Davis, who posted 20 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. His evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kobe Clement, who had 14 points.

Meanwhile, James Madison came up short against New Rochelle last Monday and fell 49-39.

Centreville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for James Madison, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Centreville came up short against James Madison in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 54-45. Can Centreville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
