Softball Recap: Bonita Beats Walnut for Their Fifth Straight Win

Bonita came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Walnut Mustangs 17-1. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Adrianna Mangini, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Skyy Hicks, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Bonita always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February.

Bonita pushed their record up to 18-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Walnut, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

Coming up, Bonita will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Glendora at 3:30 p.m. The Tartans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Bearcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Walnut, they will challenge Diamond Bar at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs are facing the Brahmas at the right time seeing as the Brahmas are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
