Baseball Recap: Triumph Charter Takes a Loss

If Triumph Charter was feeling good fresh off their 23-0 takedown of Discovery last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jaguars came up short against the Sun Valley Magnet Pioneers on Friday, falling 9-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pioneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-0 back in March.

Triumph Charter saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Simon Trujillo, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Trujillo has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Triumph Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Sun Valley Magnet, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-6.

Looking ahead, Triumph Charter will square off against Valor Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Valor Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Triumph Charter surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sun Valley Magnet, they will head out to take on Chavez at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Pioneers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
