Baseball Recap: Lake Mary Prep Gets the Win

While Lake Mary Prep's win against Wekiva wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Griffins sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Mustangs on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Griffins have won by just one run.

Ty Ogden was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Lake Mary Prep and bumps their season record up to 12-4. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Wekiva, they dropped their record down to 2-15 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Coming up, Lake Mary Prep will be taking part in a tournament against Trinity Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wekiva, they will head out to challenge Circle Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
