Basketball Recap: East Hardy Comes Up Short

East Hardy lost against Pendleton County back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The East Hardy Cougars took a hard 50-34 fall against the Pendleton County Wildcat. The Cougars just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Pendleton County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Avery Townsend led the charge by putting up 16 points along with eight boards and five steals. Townsend's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jameigh Miller, who posted 11 points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks.

East Hardy's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Pendleton County, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

East Hardy and Pendleton County are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. East Hardy will square off against Tygarts Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pendleton County, they will challenge Paw Paw at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
