Basketball Recap: Wheatmore Takes a Loss

Wheatmore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Randleman Tigers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 40-29 back in December of 2024.

Randleman was led to victory by Bella Byman and Gracie Beane. Byman went 8 of 12 en route to 21 points and six rebounds, while Beane almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. Those six rebounds gave Byman a new career-high. Kadie Green was another key player, putting up six points.

Wheatmore's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Randleman, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Trinity the next time they take the court. Randleman will host Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Wheatmore will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
