With a playoff win on the line, Burbank rose to the challenge  on Thursday. They beat the MacArthur Brahmas by the very same score they won with in their prior game:  14-2. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by eight  runs or more this season.
 Jalyn Ortiz was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three  runs, two  doubles,  and one  stolen base. Another player making a difference was  Gianina Valdez, who  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI, two  doubles,  and one  stolen base.
 Burbank  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters  in four consecutive  matchups.
Burbank pushed their record up to 19-3 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  at home. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for MacArthur,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 13-12-1.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Brahmas beat Burbank by a score of  10-8 on Friday.
