Basketball Game Preview: Roswell Coyotes vs. Hobbs Eagles

Roswell is 0-10 against Hobbs since January of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Roswell Coyotes will look to defend their home court against the Hobbs Eagles at 7:00 p.m.

Roswell is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Portales, who was ranked 24th at the time (Roswell was ranked 15th). Roswell took a 40-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Portales.

Meanwhile, Hobbs entered their tilt with Artesia on Friday with 18 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 19. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bulldogs 79-30. With the Eagles ahead 57-17 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Hobbs' win was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.2 points per game. As for Roswell, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.

Roswell took a serious blow against Hobbs when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 65-28. Can Roswell avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
