Football Recap: Frederick Mathis Leads Dunnellon's Defense on Friday + How To Watch

While Dunnellon's victory against Lake Gibson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers skirted past the Braves 9-7. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

One reason for the win was Dunnellon's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Frederick Mathis was especially locked on to Lake Gibson's QB and sacked him twice.

The win got Dunnellon back to even at 2-2. As for Lake Gibson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Dunnellon will head out to face off against Vanguard at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lake Gibson, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Lake Minneola at 7:30 p.m. The Braves are facing the Hawks at the right time seeing as the Hawks are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
