Recap: Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders vs. Knott County Central Patriots
The Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season. They breezed by Knott County Central on the road to the tune of 76-39. The win was familiar territory for Gatlinburg-Pittman who now have nine in a row.
Gatlinburg-Pittman's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ty Glasper, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which Glasper has scored at least 25% of Gatlinburg-Pittman's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Orr, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Gatlinburg-Pittman's victory bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Knott County Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Gatlinburg-Pittman and Bullitt Central will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Bullitt Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 162nd in Kentucky, while Gatlinburg-Pittman is ranked 31st in Tennessee). Knott County Central will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cordia at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
