Volleyball Recap: Cactus Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Cactus and ALA - Gilbert North squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Cactus had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Eagles. If the Cobras were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Eagles when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kylie Christiansen was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 14 digs, six aces, and three blocks. She has been hot for a while, having also posted 16 or more assists the last 15 times she's played. Emme Harris also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Cactus moved to 21-4 with that loss, which also ended their six-match winning streak. As for ALA - Gilbert North, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 23-16.

Cactus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for ALA - Gilbert North, they will challenge Ironwood Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
