With a playoff win on the line, New Britain rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Farmington River Hawks, sneaking past 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Golden Hurricanes: when they faced off against the River Hawks back in May, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (102-99) New Britain actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-21, 19-25, 25-17, 16-14.

New Britain's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Farmington, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 13-7.

Coming up, New Britain will venture away from home to challenge Trumbull at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Farmington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
