Washburn scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Madawaska Owls by a score of 18-17. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (15), the Beavers still had to take the loss.

Washburn is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. As for Madawaska, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washburn will welcome Ashland at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Madawaska, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Aroostook at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Owls will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
