Softball Recap: Tucker County Takes a Loss

After soaring to 14 runs the game before, Tucker County was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They lost 12-2 to the Gilmer County Titans. The Mountain Lions have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Tucker County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Hicks, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Tucker County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Gilmer County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Tucker County will challenge Petersburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gilmer County, they will square off against Midland Trail at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Midland Trail has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.57 runs per game on average), something Gilmer County will no doubt try to take advantage of.
