Recap: Mater Dei Knights vs. Orchard Farm Eagles
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Mater Dei Knights ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They secured a 62-58 W over Orchard Farm. The win was all the more spectacular given Mater Dei's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 206th in Illinois, while Orchard Farm is ranked 102nd in Missouri).
Mater Dei had a senior duo take command as Drake Wagner scored 30 points and Nick Lampe scored 20 points along with five rebounds. The contest was Wagner's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Haake, who scored five points.
Mater Dei's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Orchard Farm, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
