Basketball Recap: Eisenhower Comes Up Short

Eisenhower lost against Westfield back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Eisenhower Eagles lost 55-32 to the Westfield Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1310th, while the Mustangs are ranked 308th).

Saniya Broomfield continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Westfield, going 7 of 10 to rack up 19 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance also gave Broomfield a new career-high in field goal percentage (70%). Courtlynn Coleman was another key player, putting up six points along with ten boards and seven steals.

Eisenhower dropped their record down to 4-22 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Westfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

Eisenhower does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westfield, they will square off against College Park at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.4 points per game this season.
