Softball Game Preview: Ramona Rams vs. Burroughs Bears

The Ramona Rams will challenge the Burroughs Bears at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Ramona 3.7, Burroughs 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Ramona is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Paramount 7-6. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Kylie Guzman was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Liliana Recendez, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Burroughs earned a 5-1 victory over Rosary Academy on Monday.

Valentina Reyes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Karlee Earl, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Haven Vickers was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Burroughs' win bumped their record up to 16-13. As for Ramona, their victory bumped their record up to 23-6.
