Preview: Fort Wayne Snider Panthers vs. DeKalb Barons
Fort Wayne Snider is 9-1 against the Barons since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Fort Wayne Snider Panthers are on the road again and plays the DeKalb Barons at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Fort Wayne Snider is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Barons in Indiana (the Panthers are ranked fifth, while the Barons are ranked 82nd).
Fort Wayne Snider had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They secured a 64-60 W over Fort Wayne Northrop on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
DeKalb was handed a 50-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against the Vikings on Friday. DeKalb had just enough and edged the Vikings out 35-33. The win was just what DeKalb needed coming off of a 69-19 defeat in their prior matchup.
Fort Wayne Snider has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season. As for DeKalb, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.
Fort Wayne Snider strolled past the Barons when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 50-36. Will Fort Wayne Snider repeat their success, or do the Barons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
