Recap: Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks vs. North Eagles

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Calhoun County, the Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past North 40-38. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Blackville-Hilda also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.

Eva Sapp continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 12 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Breyanna Williams was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds and five steals.

North's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alayshia Mack, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Amariyah Calloway, who scored 12 points.

The victory got Blackville-Hilda back to even at 7-7. As for North, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blackville-Hilda will take on Hunter-Kinard-Tyler at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hunter-Kinard-Tyler is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for North, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Calhoun County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
